Dutch Vessel Repels Algerine Attack Off Port Constantinople
A Dutch ship named Falcon, en route from Alicant to Amsterdam, fought two Algerine corsairs near Port Constantinople. After a fierce engagement lasting from morning until early afternoon, the Falcon caught fire. the captain and 22 crew escaped in a longboat to Maravelle, where the captain and six others were wounded.
