The Earls Recovery and Pirate Actions in Atlantic Waters

The Right Honourable the Earl of Bute recovers from illness. Griffith Williams faces Newgate for murder of Charles Haynes. At Bonavista Cape Verde, Captain Mathew Goulding’s ship the Leverpole is plundered by the pirate schooner Fancy under Captain Edward Lowe, with 50 tons and 80 men. Ships St Quintin and others suffer distress and plunder. South Sea stock notes and two court notices about dividends and transfer books follow, along with theatrical offerings and auctions listed for January.
