In January 1735 a general meeting drew few proprietors. Alderman Heathcoate chaired. Francis Wilks nominated for Deputy Governor. A nine member committee was formed to nominate directors with five needed for quorum and three days’ notice required for the reports to proprietors.
The Fleece Tavern Cornhill hosts a notice to the South Sea Company proprietors. Directors are urged to appoint and prepare, with a report to be presented on Wednesday the 28th at six in the afternoon. The meeting aims to discuss the forthcoming report and motions.
Falmouth news reports outward-bound ships delayed by contrary winds and several vessels remaining in the Downs for Jamaica Maryland Virginia and other destinations. Arrivals include the Swan Sloop from Seville and the Samuel from ditto and others, with compasses marking wind at southwest and a Bristol-bound list of ships under Captains Crackenden and Oliver for the West Indies.
To the Proprietors of the South Sea Company the pamphlet lists committee members and notes that five of the gentlemen hold only one vote each. It records names such as Peter Burrell John Bristow Henry Lascelles and Richard Lamborne among those present and notes impartial judgment on the meeting.
The Proprietors of the South Sea Company at the general meeting in the Fleece Tavern Cornhill on the 8th of January unanimously nominate no candidates for Sub and Deputy Governors. Peter Burrell and Fra. Wilkes state they define the voters interests and submit their humble service.
Proprietors of South Sea Stock are desired to meet at the Crown-Tavern Threadneedle Street on Wednesday January 28 at five o clock in the afternoon to receive the report of the committee appointed by a great number of shareholders for progress and to determine the proper persons to be put in nomination for directors at the ensuing election.
A January 14 meeting of South Sea Stock proprietors at Crome Tavern Threadneedle Street elected Samuel Eyre as chair and nominated Peter Barrell for Sub-Governor and John Bristow for Deputy-Governor. A nine-member committee was named to nominate Directors with Barrell Howard Bristow Lascells Thompson Gaultier Burton Eyre Samborne. votes and reports to follow.
A unanimous meeting of proprietors at the Crown Tavern endorses Joan Bristow for the post of Governor of the South-Sea Company. Bristow solicits votes and support from fellow proprietors in the forthcoming election.
In a meeting of South Sea Company proprietors at the Crown Tavern near the Royal Exchange on Wednesday the 15th instant, Tam BURRELL announces his nomination for Sub Governor and Deputy Governor, while pledging support for Francis Wallis and agreeing to follow the directors proposed at the Fleece Tavern meeting.
London reports a writ issuing for a new Member of Parliament to replace Bulitrode Peachy Knight, Ely, deceased. Also noted are near-term deaths, oaths of office by magistrates, a record seizure of French brandy at Falmouth, and upcoming theatre performances with high tide times at London bridges.

Trade items include Exchange Assurance and London Buildings, with notes on relative prem and rate figures for the Opening.
