South Sea Stock Proprietors approve committee election agenda
At Fleece Tavern Cornhill on August 8 1735 a crowd of South Sea Stock proprietors gathered with no parade of advertisements. Alderman Heathcoate chaired. Peter Burrell and Francis Wilks were nominated for governor and deputy governor. A nine member committee was named to nominate directors. The committee, including Lambe Heathcoate Burrell Wilks, must meet with a quorum of five and give three days notice in the papers.
