Last week in Ireland several notable deaths were recorded. John Waller of Doneraile, MP, died at his seat in Limerick in an advanced age. Capt Drummond, a veteran officer who served in King William and Queen Anne’s wars, also died at Fingall. A severe fire at Mr Marley’s house near Castlepollard, Westmeath, caused by a drunken servant, burned the house and outbuildings with an estimated loss of 5001.
