Expedition to Cuba Letter Describes Fleet Movements 1741

A dated letter from December 8 1741 recounts the general sailing from Cumberland Harbour in Cuba aboard the Shoreham, aiming for Port Royal Jamaica then possibly Carthagena or Cape Francois. It notes provisions and naval stores, captures of quicksilver ships off Cuba, and Allied vessel movements including Le- opard and other ships in the Downs and Dover Roads with several arrivals and departures from London Dover and Hamburg ports.
