Petition for Redress on Ship Losses from 1727 Privateer

The following notice petitions the House of Commons for relief to sufferers from the captured ships the Richard Copithorne and the Loyal Galley. It details brutal mutiny and capture by Spanish privateers, delays in restitution, and efforts with Madrid and Seville to obtain damages under Preliminaries and the Treaty of Seville, naming Copithorne and other named claimants and consigning their pleas to Parliament for redress.
