Pink-stern'd Snow and Privateers Sail Off Plymouth

Extract from Plymouth and Portsmouth letters report a pink-stern'd snow of about 150 tons taken from Porta Nova near Vigo by the Wolf sloop under Captain Lofting, another vessel of about 140 tons laden with wheat, and a four carriage privateer carrying eleven swivels. The Wolf carried two English colors and burned a portion of the town as it took the ships and bore them to Oporto. Extra notes from Portmouth describe a Spanish privateer captured near Portland by Lieutenant Weller. Storms near St Christopher's wreck ships, and several notable deaths and robberies occur in London, Mile End, and Spitalfields.
