Diplomatic dispatches from Moscow and London December notes

A long despatch summary from Moscow reports pacifying efforts by royal kin to deter travel by the Emperor of Russia, with ministers from Germany and Spain holding frequent talks. It notes court movements, troop frontiers near Persia, and rumors of marriage plans, while Copenhagen and Paris exchanges discuss Hanover treaty implications and Spain rejoices at a British pledge not to seize galleons. Various arrivals, appointments, and losses fill the correspondences, including court notices, ships, and theatre listings.

Oratory Event Promises Wartime Wit and Learning

An odd historical item from Newport describes an evening at the ORATORY featuring a sensational oration on life achievements, wit, humour, politics, amorous matters, religion, and more. It promises a vivid mix of satire, satire on religion, conversation, and worldly ventures with dramatic and literary allusions.

Fragmentary Royal Communion Service Description

A garbled account describes the King and Queen with princes and nobles at a Chapel Royal service. Figures named include the Sovereign and companions, a Sword of State, and a Holy Communion observed by the royal party. The readable text hints at formal pageantry surrounding a royal rite.
