French detachment takes Frauenberg post near Prague

From Prague December 16 the Allied Headquarters report Lt Gen Omt d Aubigne leading French troops to seize Frauenberg cattle post. After initial resistance, 56 enemies killed and as many captured. The victory secures a bridge on the Moldau and a road inward, with hopes to push toward Vienna this winter if conditions allow.

Westminster Candidates Named By Independent Erectors

On Thursday December 24 1744 the Independent Erectors of the City and Liberty of Westminster summon their Committee to meet at Five o’Clock at the Crown and Anchor Tavern Strand to nominate two suitable candidates to represent them in Parliament. The meeting is held soon after the late election to speed the process as the election may occur in a few days.
