Turbulent European politics ripple through the Hague reports

In long dispatches from the Hague dated December 18 to December 22, observers debate Britain’s war support, the Queen of Hungary’s gains in Bohemia, and possible shifts in the Dutch stance. France and Spain are urged toward pacificing moves, while Count Saxe’s forces and Saxe’s plans at Versailles spark strategic unease. Reports also note Protestant toleration debates in Languedoc and troop movements hinting at broader maneuvering across Europe.
