Royal moves and local notices from London society

Yesterday the Duke of Lorrain went to Court and sailed from Greenwich on the William and Mary Yacht to Holland. The Duke of Cumberland visited Sir Robert Walpole in Arlington Street. The Duke and Duchess of Richmond departed for Goodwood, Sussex. An organ inauguration at West ham was announced with an anthem by King's Chapel. Mr Talbot presiding. Mr Jones, tobacco planter, died at the Virginia Planter in Fleet Street. Mrs Ambrose, widow of three named gentlemen, was buried at Whitechapel. A hearing date was set for January 27 at Westminster on disputes over the Warwick and Holland estates. Highwaymen were captured near Rumford and jailed at Chelmsford. James Dortman was convicted at the Old Bailey for robbing Henry Barnwell of thirteen shillings and a medal.
