French Prize Taken by St. Kitts Sloop near Jamaica

Boston reports a sloop of eight guns and forty hands from St Kitts chased a large ship, a French vessel of about tons and 140 men, which fired on the sloop. The French ship surrendered after heavy maneuvering and was carried to Jamaica as a prize laden with wine oil. New York notes four privateers Clinton Mary Anne Polly and Hester capturing two large ships and a brig off the Grand Caycoles after a ten hour fight. Cargo valued around 10,000 pieces of eight in gold and silver.
