A reader’s letter defends humane treatment of slaves in Barbary and France, attacks Philatrakicus and C. C. for anti Turk bias, and argues that Poland Russia and Denmark are misused in a quarrel over religious and political oppression. The author disputes accusations, defends French conduct, and challenges the Daily Journal writer’s claims while warning against sensationalism.
