Executions and Sentences From Last Affizes Across Counties
Last Wednesday Daniel Crew Thomas Bright and George Edwards were executed at Gloucester. At Worcester Affizes five men were condemned to death for thefts and break ins, with three reprieved and two ordered to be executed next Friday. Seven sentenced to four years’ transportation. At Hereford Affizes three were condemned but reprieved. Durham Affizes ended with three sentences of death and two reprieves. In Newcassile four men faced transport and one reprieved. local officers were barred from duty and seven years’ transportation ordered.
