Complaint Against Apothecary Over Foot Ulcer Cures

A 1736 notice reports Mr John Moore of the Pestle and Mortar in Lawrence-Poyntey Lane examined a patient with a blister turning into a large sore on the foot. The patient, Benjamin weaver of Castle-ftree, alleges inadequate care and misrepresented cures, claiming the doctor promised a bone removal and later claimed a cure with Alma and other remedies. The piece notes prior cures by Moore and references to St Thomas's Hospital and other practitioners, with allegations of faulty examinations and dubious efficacy.
