Moorish Frigate Sunk after Bold Spanish Attack at Denia Canal
The Daily Port reports a Moorish frigate anchored at Denia Port entrance. Captain John Baptist Russ led a small vessel with 33 Denia sailors to attack the Barbarians. After a fierce engagement, the frigate overturned and sank. Twenty Moors were rescued alive, one Spaniard killed, and two wounded.
