Royal and city notices record marriages, deaths, accidents, cricket matches, and financial market prices amid ongoing war and diplomacy.
In the Downs his Majesty's Ship Swift encounters a Norwayman that has just arrived. The wind is southwesterly. The report notes the unnamed Norwegian vessel and the Royal Navy sloop Swift in port news for the day.
London dispatches from Paris dated July 29 recount Private Letters from Bastia describing Baron Neuhoff recent descent into Corsica. Hearing a price on his head and warnings about war rules if captured, he withdrew, leaving money and ammunition for his companions. The letters also note Baron de Croft, his nephew, enforcing peasants who stay loyal.
The 2 E Committee for Letting the City's Lands, in the Account of the Chamberlain of London, gives notice of several leases for the Leather Market at Leadenhall. It lists three warehouse plots near Leadenhall and East India Company's Warehouse, with exceptions, and invites proposals on August 6 at five in the afternoon in Guildhall Court.
