Lords of the Admiralty order sloops to sea and man Strafford

In London the Lords of the Admiralty ordered all sloops and tenders to sea to protect trade and ordered the Strafford a sixty gun man of war to be manned for channel service under Capt Edward Legge. Also Dr Saunders named physician to St Helena by East India Company directors.
