Letters From Petersbourg And Poltava In 1738 Notify British Aid
A pair of letters recount British sympathy for Russia after Octakow’s siege and praise General Stoffler’s defense. One letter from Petersbourg lauds Russian victories and warns against Tartars, while the other from Poltava details travel, court introductions, and Munich’s officers. The chatter includes siege casualties, a young Tartar prince’s bravery, and Marching to Winter Quarters with optimism for future campaigns. London notices update naval appointments, court martials, felonies, and theatre listings as well.
