Privateer La Boca Captured by British Ship
An 1 July 1743 account describes the La Borca privateer of 108 tons with 16 carriage and 24 swivel guns, sailing from Porto Rico toward Mississippi. The Briton waged battle near the harbor, boarding the vessel, killing some Spaniards, and burning parts of the battery before retreating with one man lost. The capture is linked to the Nostra Señora de las Dolores as the prize vessel.
