Lettered Defence Against Gold Import Accusations 1736

A 1736 letter from William Sloane to East-India Company proprietors denies any gold consignments from China or private import. He disputes a charge against R.S. and references Mr Colfton of Hampshire as a source of inquiry. Also advertised is Fungions toning and health remedies detailing scurvy symptoms and proposed cures.

Mail from Holland Reports Military Movements

Yesterday arrived the Mail from Holland noting 7 MG Stanislaus at Angerbourg and to stay until the 18th. Petersbourg letters say Count Munich ordered to besiege Asaph with 100000 regulars and 66000 Cossacks and Calmucks. Vienna notes orders to recall weak regiments to complete them and reports requisitions for officers to raise recruits. An Imperial treaty with Wirtemberg will take 1000 foot and 600 horse into Imperial Service.
