YEfterday being the Feftiyal of St. A-lexander NewsE, Patron of the Order of that Name, andtbe Anni-rerfary-of the Signing of the Treaty concluded at Neuftafl between Sweden and Mufcovy ; the Czarina received che Compliments of the Lords and Ladies of the Court, the Foreign Ministers, and other Perfons of Diftinction, upon that Occafion, at Ifmailow: After which, her Czarian Majefty, wearing the Collar of the Order of St. Alexander, and accompanied with all the Knights of that Order, went to Chappel, and heard Divine Service ; which being ended, (he did Count Wratiflau, the. Emperor's Minifter-Plenipotentiary, Prince Trubetzkoi, Field-Marfhal General, and Prince Czerkaski, Privy-Coun-YeOor, who were, fome ricne fince created Knights of the Order of St. Andrew, the Honour to inveft them with the Collar of St. , Alexander ; and at the fame time (he conferred the fame upon General Wiesbach, lately come from the Ukraine. The Knights of the Order of St. Alexander had the Honour to dine and fup with the Czarina and the Czarian Family; and at Night, after the Repaft, a fine Firework was play'd oft Petersburg, Sept. 16. N, S. Don Manuel, Infante of Portugal, arrived here the 1 zth Inftanc from Mofcow, accompany'd by a Chamberlain and two Gentlemen of the Chamber, who have Orders to defray his Expences, and to pay him the Honours due to a Prince of the Blood. The Governour of this Place, and rbofe of Riga, Nerva, and Revel, are likewife ordered to pay him the fame Honours, and to guard him from one Place to another with a Brigade of Dragoons. We have juft fent away great Part of the Furniture left in her Czarian Majefty s two Palaces here, for Mofcow ; from whence they write, that General Romanzof Had been declared Governor of the New Conquefts in Perfia  and that a Son of the Cham of the Chalmucks was arrived at Mofcow, who was to have an Audience of the Czarina, as foon as fhe remm'd from that Capital. The Polifh Troops quartered in Pruifia and the neighbouring Provinces, are order'd to poft themselves upon the Road, between Warfaw and Grodno, for the Sifety of Travellers, during the AfTembly of the General Dyet. We have received Advice, That M. Pomatowski Regimentary of the Crown, was gone from Lemburg to Polifh Ruffia, and that it was believed he would not be at the Dyet. It is written from Warfaw, that the Minifters of the powers concern'd in the Treaty of Oiiva, had join'd in prefenting a Memorial to the King, who received it very gracioufly, and gave them Hopes that the enfuing Dyer, fiiould give them the Satisfaction they demand ; adding, that they might draw up a State of their Grieyances, to be delivered to the Marfhal, who fhall be chofen by that Affembiv. The Preparations which M. du Beftuchef, the Ruffian Minifter, has been making for the Feaft he was to give upon Occafion of the Czarina's Coronation, was not only finifhed, but that Minifter had actually invited feveral Perfons of Diftinction to partake of it, when Orders came from the Court at Odenfee to put up Prayers for a Bleding upon the Means his Majefty is ufing for bis Recovery, This un-fbrefeen Accident has obliged the Guefts to excufe themfelves to M. de Beftuchef, that they could not go to his Feaft. Vienna, Sept, 27. N. S. Yefterday Count Sinzendorff's Secretary was lent back to the Hague. Munjler, OS. 4. N. S. On the 28th paft, the Elector of Cologn arrived here from Him-meling, and Duke Theodore, his Brother, from Nordkirchen. On Sunday the ift In-ftsnt, about Nine o'Clock in the Morning, bis Electoral Higbnefs went with a great Retinue to the Cathedral Church, to confecrate Duke Theodore, Bifhop and Prince of Frey-fingen and Ratisbon. The two Princes were alone in a ftately Coach, preceded by the great Officers of the Court, Minifters of State, Chamberlain, Counftllors, Gentlemen, Officers of rhe Chamber, and other Perfons belonging to the two Courts, who all walk'd on r-oot according to their different Ranks: The Life-Guards Surrounded and foilow'd the Coach, and the whole Garnfon was under Arms in the Square before the Cathedral. Their Highnelfes were receiv'd at the Church-Door by the Chapter in a Body, who conducted them to the Place defign'd for the Ceremony, where each of the Princes placed bimfelf under a Canopy prepared for him. The Suffragans of Hildefheim, Munfter, Pa-derbornand Olnaburg, were the Bifliops who alftfted at this Ceremony: Several Abbots and Prelates were likewife employ'd therein; and it was perfbrm'd with all polfible Magnificence, and in admirable Order, notwithltand-ing the great Concourle of People that were there. The Church was lined with rich Ta-peftry, and curioufly adorn'd, by the Care of the Baron de Wachtendonk, Great Provoft, and the Canons of our Cathedral, who upon this Occafion gave publick Marks of the Satisfaction it was to them, that fo folemn an Act was perform'd in their Church. After the Ceremony, the two Princes return'd to Court in the fame Order, and dined in pub-lick. In the Afternoon, their Highnefles went to Vefpers and Compline in the Cathedral. In the Evening there was an Apartment, Supper and Ball at Court, the Front of the Palace being illuminated from Top to Bottom. There were at this Feaft a great Number of Lords and Ladies from feveral Parts of his Electoral Highnefs's Dominions. Duke Theodore fet out Yefterday on his Return to Freyfingen: The two Brothers parted with all the Appearance of the tendereft Affection; and the Elector of Cologn could not forbear exprefling his Satisfaction, that after he bad admitted Duke Theodore into the Order of Priefthood, be bad likewife had an Opportunity of re ceiving him into the College of Bifhops, in a manner fo Edifying to all that were prefent. The Ele&or will fliortly go to Ofnaburg, where be has fome Thoughts of tbaking % Publick Entry; and will afterwards return to Bon, to pafs the Winter. Tefterday arriv'd the Mail due from France. 'T'Hey wroTte from Rome, the 23d paft) that on the 17th in the Morning, after the Pope had celebrated Mafs, be open'd tb cialty was allow'd, by which Sentence he was interdicted ; and a Perlon is appointed to officiate for him. Two of the Cardinal de Fleury's Nephews lately went into the Seminary of Sc. Sulpice, to prepare themfelves for entring into Holy Orders. The King of P--has order'd a great Council of War to be held upon the Depofi-tions made by a certain Great Perfon, in Anfwer to the Commiflioners appointed by his P-Majefty to examine him, in relation to his DeGgn of crofting the Seas. The King has lately bought a Houfe at Verfailles, for eftablifhing a Community of Repenting Maids, under the Direction of the Rector of rhe antient Parifh; for which the Rules are actually drawing up, The Count de Luce, eldeft Son to the Prince de Tingri, and not the younger Son, as was faid by Miftake, was marry'd, the 3d Inftant at Night, to Mademoifelle de Senofan, at Rony, a Seat of M. de Seno-fau's. The Earl of Waldgrave, AmbaffadorEx-" traordinary of the King of Great Britain, is getting ready a very fumptuous Equipage, in order to make his Publick Entry into this City fome time next Month, The Marquis de Fiemarcon was married,' the ibth paft at Nighr, to Mad. de Layetce at Rouen. The States of Languedoc are to meet at Nifmes the 14th of December next. We hear that a Treaty of Marriage is concluded between the Count de Taillebourg, Eldeft Son to the Prince de Talmont, and the Palatina Jablonowski. Some Days ago, a Pupil of M. Petit, the Surgeon, cut off Brigadier du Plariti's Lady's Breaft for a Cancer. . The Duke de Villeroy is preparing to go and take Pofleffion of his Government of Lyons.
