Arret of the Parliament and Cambray Pastoral Letter
Paris reports the 1735 Arret of the Parliament condemning the Archbishop of Cambray for his May 19 pastoral letter. It orders suppression of the letter and forbids addressing the King as anything but King. The court warns against Monarchy flattery and declares the archbishop’s titles improper. The piece also records royal military movements in northern Italy and various noble deaths.
