ON Monday laft, the Countefs.Dow-ager of Daun, our Viceroy's Daughter by the firft Venter, arrived here from Vienna, and took tip her Lodgings in an Apartment of the Royal Palace. On Tuefday Morning the Prince of Mifciagnia d'Anglis was found dead in his Bed, and has left no IiTue. Some Days ago, arrived here Thirteen more Tartanes, laden with Corn for the Ufe of this City, from different Ports of the Kingdom. Yefterday there was a Meecing of the Regent and Prefidents of the Royal Chamber, in which the Viceroy was prefent, to confider of the new Farm of the Lottery in the Nature of that of Genoa ; when an Offer was made of 86,000 Ducats, by Signor Domenico Angioletti and Company ; but no Refolution is yet taken in thai Affair. Home, Jan. 7. N. S. Laft Saturday Cardinal Querini confecrated Signor Tarugi Bi-fhop of Chioli in Tufcany, and Signor Pado-vani of Terracina Bifhop of Belcaftro in the Kingdom of Naples. This Solemnity was performed in the Church of San Marco. On Sunday the Pope and the facred College went to the Cbappel of Sixtus, where Mafs was celebrated by Cardinal Nicolo Spinola. The fame Day his Holinefs went to the Cloifter of Santa Maria fopra Minerva, to vifit the Father General of the Dominicans, whom he found much better; and from thence he went to the Apartment of the Father Procurator-General, who continues much as he was. A particular Congregation was held at Cardinal Cofcia's about" the Affairs of this City; in which the Cardinals Origbi and Coligola and Commiffary Palaggi were prefent. Some time fince a Paflport was fent to Signor Bicbi to come to Rome and juftify himfelf; but be being directed to, only as Arcbbifhop of his Church in partibus, without the Title of Apoftolical Nuncio to the King of Portugal, that Prince has taken it as a new Affront, and refents it in fuch a manner, that the Accommodation we had in Profpe& feems to be farther off than ever. On Monday the Venetian Ambaffador gave a Magnificent Entertainment to Cardinal Ottoboni, the Dutchefs de Frano, the Prince de San Martino, and pother Perfons of Diftin&i-on : As did, the next Day, Cardinal Cien-fuegos to the Prince of Saxe-Gotha, who is going to Naples to take Poffeffion of a Mi-litary Command conferred upon him by the Emperor. The Pope has made the Abbot Calzamiglia his Private Chaplain. The Count d'Almenara, formerly Viceroy of Sicily, does not go to Malta, but has taken a Houfe here ; and on Thurfday laft he was ordain'd a Deacon by Cardinal Cienfuegos, in the Hofpital of the Fathers of the Mitfion, where he performed the Exercifes to prepare him for the Ecclefiaftical Habit: After which, the faid Cardinal went to the Conftable Co-lonna's, and made a formal Demand, in the Emperor's Name, of Donna Anna Colnnna, Sifter to the ConftabJe, and Niece to Cardinal Colonna, in Marriage with the Duke de Matalona; which was granted. The Prin cefs Albani has received an Anonymous Letter, congratulating her upon the likelihood of the Cardinal her Nephew's recovering the Direction of the Cuftoms, the new Farmen Milzetti and Peruchi being about 26,000 ^ Crowns in Arrear. The Duke de Gravina has cited all the Roman Princes and Barons, who are poffefs'd of Eftates that formerly belonged to the Family of Orfini, to furren-der them to the faid Family: But 'tis thoughc thefe Pretentions will be declared null, by virtue of the Bull of Pope Urban VIII. which deprives the Sellers of all ground of Pretention, the Sale being made by a Congregation of Barons, who decreed that the Eftates then fold fhould be quietly poffeffed by the Purchafers in all time to come. Leghorn, Jan. 7. N. S. The St. Nicholas, a Venetian Ship, bound to this Place with Corn from the Archipelago, meeting with a Storm near Monte Cbrifto, was obliged to put into Palermo, where fhe was detained and forced to deliver her Cargo. The fame thing happened to another Ship bound hither from Ancona, and to a French Barque laden with Corn for Marfeilles. Florence, January 7. N. S. Laft Saturday Morning arrived here an Exprefs from Mantua, with Difpatches for Cardinal Cienfuegos at Rome. The Minifters of the Great Duke continue their Extraordinary Affemblies, to confider of the Propofals made by the Minifters of the contracting Powers in the Treaty of Seville. Frequent Cabinet-Councils are likewife held; but tho* various Rumours are fpread abroad, 'tis certain that nothing Definitive is yet done by this Court, nor the pofitive Anfwer given, for which Father Afcanio detains the Exprefs he lately received from Spain. Yefterday the Marquis de Labadie, Envoy of France, had an Audience of the Great Duke, who is in perfect Health. Vienna, Jan. 14. N.S. The Emperor af-fifts at all the Councils, that are held at Court upon the prefent Situation of the Affairs of Europe. The Cabinet-Courier Montagne is fet out for Seville; and another Exprefs is fent to the Court of Turin. The Imperial Ambaffador's Gentleman, who arrived here lately from Paris, is upon the Point of letting out alfo, upon bis Return thither. The Recruits raifed in the Kingdoms of Naples and Sicily are for certain Reafons to be fent from rhence, and incorporated in the Imperial Regiments in Hungary; and the Regiments defigned for Italy will, if tbey proceed, be recruited and remounted out of thofe in Hungary. The Emperor's Fortreffes and Magazines in that Kingdom are exceeding well provided; and the damaged Meal and Corn have been caft into the River. All the Ammunition at Triefte is to be tranfported to Naples and Palermo. Befide the fine Regiment of Cuirafliers, which the Emperor has given to the young Prince of Savoy, upon the Death of his Father Prince Emanuel, his Imperial Majefty has acquainted Prince Eugene of Savoy with his Refolution to make him a Knighc of the Golden Fleece ; for fays he, in him we hope there lives an old Prince Eugene of Savoy. The Counts Palfi, Erdedi, and Efterhafi are arrived here in the Quality of Dpt"-'"' c----- -c rl ' ...g tuut-cincu in a nofnd Murder lately, committed at one of the King's Huntsmen's, four Leagues off. The Huntfman, bis Wife, bis Father, two Children, and Servant- Maid were barbar�ufly murdered by three in Difguife, with Axes. A Boy of feven Years old, who bearing the Noife, crept into an Oven, efcaped their Hands, and gave art Account of the Whole to a Magiftrate. A Lieutenant of the Gaards has alfo been fei-zed, for killing a Poftillion that did not drive fo furioufly as he would have had him. ' Lucern, Jan. 19. N. S. Some will have it^ that feveral Italian Princes and other Powers are invited to accede to the Treaty of Seville. Frankfort, Jan. 22. N. S. The Imperial Commiifary here has lately fent away feveral Veffels from hence, laden with Corn for the Magazines of Luxemburg. We have recei-ved Advice from Staubinger in Bavaria^ that three Imperial Regiments, which are to march to Italy under the Command of the: General Count Welfek, were, arrived in that Neighbourhood, and that they would be able to pafs the Mountains of Tirol in teq Days time. Mofcow, of the 2d Inftant, advife, that the Czar's Marriage with the Princefs Dolgo-rucki is to be confummated toward the latter End of February; and that the Duke of Liria was preparing to fet out on his Return early in the Spring. They write from War-faw, that tbey had received Advice of the Death of M- Pociey, Great General of Lithuania, and that before he died, he dcliver'd the Command of the Army to the Caftelan Oginski. From Berlin ir is written, that the King of Poland having conferred the Command of the Regiment of Hackeborh upon Col. Pohlenz, his Envoy to the King of Pruffia, that Minifter had taken Leave of his Pruflian Majefty, who made him a Prefent of 1000 Ducats; and thac it was believed he would be relieved by the Count de Lynar, his Polifh Majefty's Chamberlain. They add, that the Count de Schlieben was made Great Huntfman, in the room of M. Harter-feld, lately deceafed ; and that M. Ilten, Son to the Minifter of State of Hanover of that Name, having refigned his Office of Coun-fellor of the Regency of Minden, his Pruflian Majefty had conferr'd the fame upon M. de Reichenbach, his Refident at London, with a Salary of 800 Rixdollars a Year. The Affairs of the Congrefs of Brunfwick begin to look with a new Face; fo that we flatter our felves the Differences between the Courts of Hanover and Pruffia will fhortly be ter-minated. Falmouth, Jan. 19: Yefterday failed the Hanover Packet, Capt. Osborn, for Lisbon? and the Eagle, Capt. Emmet, for Corunna.
