WE hear there W ro be a Camp of 1.6,00c Men near Mofcow early in the Spring, and another of iz,o&o pear Riga. Ten or twelve Merchant Ships, which lay in the Road of Cronfloc, were caft away in the River of Neva, in the late,Storms which lafted here from >he 27th to the 29th of November; moft of them having been bear to Pieces by the Ice, fo that none of their Cargoes could be faved. Stockholm, Dec. 11 N. S. The King has given the Bifhoprick of Wefteras, vacant by the Death of Dr. Cammeen, to Dr. Nicolas Barchius, Paftor of the Cburch of St. Nicholas, and Preacher to the Court j and that of Calmar, vacant by the Deceafe of Dr. Brauners, to Dr. Herman Schroder, Paftor of the Churcb of St. Katherine. On the 9th Inftant, four new Men of War were launch'd here, in the Prefence of the King and the whole Court. This Day his Majefty declared, that he would fet out for Upfal the Day after the Chriftmas Holidays, to take the Diverfion of Hunting in the Neighbourhood of that City. Laft Week the Count de Gallovin had a long Conference \uith Count Horn, upon Occafion of fome Difpatches he had received from Mofcow. They write from Copenhagen, that an �x-prefs was arrived there from Berlin, with the Ratification of the Treaty of Commerce lately concluded between his Danifh Majefty and the King of Pruflia ; and that the Directors of the Oriental Company of that City had received Advice by the way of Holland, that one of their Ships returning home from Tranquebar, opened a Seam off the Wand of Sr. Thomas; but the Men and moft of the Goods were faved. Tefierday arrived the Mail due from France. Lisbon, December 8. N. S. On the 2d Inftant, the Prince of Brafil, and the Infante Don Antonio, went to Prayers in the Church of St. Roch, where the firft Vefpers were fung that Day for the Beftival of St. Francis Xavier. The next Day, the Queen went to the fame Church, with the Princefs of Brafil, and the Infanta Donna Maria Francifca ; and her Majefty upon her Recurn, m-.eting the Vicar of the Pari fa of the Incarnation, who had been to carry the VUticum to a fick Man, fhe andthe two Princefles got out of the Coach, ai^l attended the Holy Sacrament quite in th the Church. On the 4th, the Queen, the Princefs of Brafil, and the Infante Don Pedro, went to Campo-Pequeno, to make a Vjfir to rhe Infante Don Carlos j with whom they dined j and in the Afternoon the Prince of Brazil came to them. The Royal Academy of Hiftory have elected Don Gonfalvo Manuel Galvaon de la Cerda, Gentleman of the King's Houfhold, Grear Alcade of the City of Torram, Commander of St. Bartholomew de Rabal of the Order of Chrift, Counfellor of the UI-tramotane Council, and Deputy in the Council of the Houfe of Braganza, to be one of their Body, in the room of Don Fran-cifco de Souza, Commander of the King's German Guards, deceafed : And the King having approved of their* Election, the new Member has undertaken ro write the Hiftory of the Kings Don Psdro 1. and Don Ferdinand. Don JohruWilliam Hardy, and Don Lewis-Peter de Brederode, Captains of the Vittoria and LampaJifa, two of the King's Ships, which came into this Pore the ;ft Inftant, failed again the 3d, ro cruize upon the Corfairs of Barbary, Laft Week the Dover, an Englifh Man of War, arrived here from Cadiz j as did alfo the Nueftra Senho-ra de la Conception, a Portugueze Man of War, in 52 Days from Maranbaon. The Government of the Ifland of Sr. Thomas is conferred upon Don Lopo de Souza Coutin-bo, in Confideration of his good Services. Madrid, Dec. 27. N. S. Don Frar.-jifco Orozo Manriques de Lara, Marquis de Mur-tara & de Olias, died here one Day hit Week, aged about 50 Years.
