Locals Edge Nanaimo Veterans In Close Island League Match
In a tense Upper Island League game at the local grounds the Nanaimo Veterans nearly earned a share of the points. Tucker James scored the decisive goal five to six minutes from time after a cross by Bannerman, sealing a 1–0 victory for Cumberland. Blair won the opening coin toss and Cumberland defended the town goal. Early pressure from locals yielded multiple near misses, with Deluce delivering dangerous crosses and Bannerman combining with Plump on the left.
