The Nanaimo County Y M C A opens under G W Hartley as General Secretary as the first in the Western Division. A Nanaimo meeting elected J W Coburn as committee chair and G S Hougham as recording secretary with local leaders Duncan, Dakin and others joining the executive. Hartley brings decades of YMCA and church mission experience to the new county association.

Obituary for Averill McDonald Aged 13 in Maryport
Averill McDonald eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Chas McDonald died at home on Maryport Ave after a brief illness from Spanish influenza. Funeral held from the family residence to Cumberland Cemetery with Rev James Hood officiating. Mrs J Rutherford left for Nanaimo on Friday.
