Willinm King, negro, shot Thursday night in a farm row on the Sneedplace near Jones I’rairie, died earlyMonday, September 27.Charges lt;f murder were to he made again.*! James Franklin, another negro, who shot King in the stomach.King was brought to St. Fd wards Hospital flt;r treatment. Physicians were doubtful that he could survivethe wound.Sheriff Carl C. Hlaek who placed Fianklin in jail here, said the shoot-ir g occured in the early evening attie King home. A number of negroeshad been visiting at the house and in the evening some trouble aroseovei disagreements in a gamewas being played. Franklina shotgun and filed one shot which took effect at close range.Following Franklin’s arrest a charge of assault with intent to murder was filed and early Monday it was said the charge would be changed to murder.
