MARTIN STOREROBBED MONDAYNIGHT, SEPT. 24Some time during: Monday night, the Cecil Martin General Store on the west side was entered and ribbed of $1000 to $1500 worth of seasonable merchandise. |The store was grained entrance by smashing a glass in the back door and then working on the lock. The burglars are supposed to have loaded the goods, which included 27 mens winter overcoats, about aj hundred pair of best silk hose for women, many pairs of shoes, mens! leather vests and what not.Local business circles were suspicious of two characters, here Monday afternoon and talked of the possibility of a robbery for the night, some of them taking down the license number from ihe suspicims men, yet not taking quite enough precaution.Sheriff Mays was, notified Tuesday morning after the rdbbery was discovered and he is working on two separate clews, which may work outtbe ‘gisttty persons.About four weeks ago, an I, C. box ear on the ^sitting was brokeninto and two dozen sweaters 'billed to Martin, were stolen. Since that time the freight house over at Sho-bonier was entered and some ’ meat was taken. Th esame night as the robbery here thh, week, two tires were stolen from a Ford in Sandoval and about fourteen gallons ot gasoline 'was taken from a ftudson' parked there and the property of Newman and Deadman. jHeres hoping that next weeks paper can announce the guilty party or parties safely in the Marion County jail. t 1
