The cause of the eonfineemnt of the Second City resi-, dent is explainfid as follows in tho 1 Reeds burg Times:j Allen Sainsbury stirred up a bit ! of excitement when he provoked an j altercation with an acquaintance on Main street. He was still in an ar-gumentive mood when Marshal Stowe arrived, Sainsbury was full of moonshine ,or some other powerful agency j which prompted him to beat it. Thej marshal used his gun to enforce hisside of tre argument, but the other party kept on running. He was foundlater lying back of a barn and wasplaced in the city’s strong room. The following morning he was taken before Judge Claridge, where he was assessed a fine of $50.00 and costs, which amounted to about $20.00 more In default of payment he wassent to the county jail.
