man twenty-five years old, with gray eyes and brown hair, weighing about UK) pounds, appeared at the home of O, E. Hill at Bono early this morning and stated that he was sick and wanted medicine. J. P. Hill, H. Bonner and O. E, Hill placed the man in Bonner’s car and took him to Dr, Staicup’s house where he was examined. Stai-cup told the man that he was suf fering from a pistol wound and immediately the man denied this and aaid that he had been scratched by a nail while climb ing into Hill’s oarn, where he had spent the night.On being pressed the man stated that he was with the men who robbed the Glen Rose bank Thursday and bad been the en trance guard, but further than this be would make no statement. He was placed in a car and brought here and turnedover to Sheriff Miller at the jail,where a bed was prepared for him. County Health Officer Harris, Dr. Stalcup and other physicians attended the man. To Dr. Harris the wounded man stated that his father’s name was S. J. W. Stan ton an dihat he resided at Scbanton (or Staunton), Va He said he had assumed the name of J. M. Howard after go ing to Oklahoma. Stimulants were administered to the patient but be continued to grow weaker and passed away at the jail at 5 p. m. Dr. Harris examined the body and found four bul let wounds. Two of the woundsappeared to have been made by a pistol bullet which passed entirely through the body, and the other two appeared to have been made by No. 3 duck shot. All of the wounds were in vital spots.The body was embalmed and is being held at a local undertakingestablishment for instructionsfrom relatives. Sheriff Miller stated tonight that tbe deed men had $862 on hie ' person anding a drive to sell Liberty bonds.Up to Wednesday morning theyhad sold $3,150 worth.
