IJEXINGTON, (Ken.) September 14.We are informed, that or* the 4th of Auguft, about fixty miles on this fide the Big Biopiere River, colonel Jofhua fiaker, a Mr. William Baker, and Mr. Rogers, of Natchez, were robbed of their horfes, travelling utenfils, and about 2 300 dollars cafh, v, . ,By a gentleman juft from Knoxville, we learn that the cominiffioners appointed to treat with the Cherokees, did not meet at the time appointed—that in conlequence of that and ailoof the murder of an Indian■'t V , v ’» i- ^ 4Woman on her way to the treaty by a white man, the chiefs had gone off highly dif-jveafed, and it is much feared could not be prevailed upon to return to the treaty.
