The marching band furnished the rhythm and pep'music for the snake dance on Thursday evening. Several football players marched with the band. Thanks for the help fellas! On Friday, the band marched in the homecoming parade. Friday evening at the half of the fqotball game, the band played Pomp and Circumstances as the royal party marched onto the field.Mr. Block, with the aid of several band members and Mr. Sagness from the Mid-Bell Music Company in Storm Lake, gave an instrumental demonstration to the third, fourth and fifth grades, junior high and high school on Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Block gave a talk on the various instruments, how they are played, and some of their history.Mr. Sagness brought several of their instruments over with him and Mr. Block used these instruments to demonstrate with. Some of the band members also demonstrated their instruments. The purpose of this demonstration was to arouse the interest of more students to play band instruments.The Aurelia Bulldogs won their homecoming game over the Sioux Rapids Indians by a score of 7 to 6.There was no scoring in the first half. The Bulldogs were down deep in the Indians' territory Several times, but just couldn’t go over to pay dirt. Sioux Rapids never threatened.In • the second half the Bulldogs scored on a 35 yard run by Arlo Sturgeon. Jim Buenger plunged over for the extra point.Gerald Fairchild scored Sioux Rapid's only tally on a 50 yard jaunt.
