It knocked down a sales and service sign, crossed highway 92, ran up into the yard of t h e Evan Edwards home on the other side of the highway and started right into the house. There the back wheels of the tractor caught on the concrete front steps of the house and stopped the forward progress. No one was injured, according to Bill Hennigan, manager of International. There was no estimate of the damage to thesign and house. Damage to thr' tractor consisted of a bent wheel rim and some scratched paint.Mrs. Edwards was in the kitchen when the tractor hit about 4 p.m. “I just heard this awful crash and breaking glass. I didn't know what was happening,” she said. Her husband w as working in the field at the time and wouldn’t know about it until he came in.Mrs. Edwards said she was glad it didn’t happen Tues day as that was their 44th wedding anniversary. She had stored several things on the porch, most of which was demolished but on inspection found a bowl made of carnival glass lying undamaged in the midst of the wreckage. The tractor which hit the front door almost dead center did no damage past the front entryway. With the inside door closed one would never know from looking that anything had happened. The back wheels did dig holes in the lawn before men from the company could get the motor of the tractor turned off. The 80S is the biggest model made by International.
