More than 1,000 dranks about 1-h.o streets, three parades, a number of minor accidents, a colored man. striking two colored women, and a total disregard of I ho orders of the County Commissioners to close saloons, marked the celebration of the signing of the peace armistice, in this city today. Up to a late hour tonight the evening parade was still going strong and the paraclei's seemed to have secured a second wind and planned to parade until a very, late or early hour. Hundreds of people were on tho streets throwing confetti, singing, and having a big time generally, the celebration starting at *1 o’clock this morning shortly after the news of the peace was received.Saloon keepers are responsible for the statement that there were more than 1,000 drunks and Mayor Donovan is said to be responsiblefor-the saloons not being closeda:the nolico notified him at one o'clock of the order of the County Commissioners. Many automobiles about the town skidded on the pavements and suffered broken axles and wheels. Aurcl Frelko of 96 Taylor avenue, hit a woman, at the trolley switch in South Norwalk with his automobile, knocking her down and rolling her along the ground. She was able lo get up unassisted and was lost in the crowd so her Identity is not known.Alexander Robinson, colored, went on a rampage at the Colored club rooms on Water street and is accused by Sadie -r.rown and another woman of striking them in the face.
