DON’T CARE DEMEANOR TURNS TO SERIOUSNESSThe attitude and manner that Kid Noble the murderer of Tom Morgan has assumed while in the court room this week has excited comment on every inand. He sat at the east end of the lawyers table, and being naturally round shouldered Is inclined to be leaning forward, and his eyes nearly all of the time are fixed upon the floor. The first two or three clays of the trialhe seemed quite jovial and before court opened in the morning or afternoon and during the recesses spent the time talking and laughing with his brother, who is a constant attendant at the trial.A Change Noticed.But since Thursday afternoon therehas b*»en a marked change. All thatmorning he himself had been on the stand, and he seemed to feel that hisrase was being presented \o the juryin a satisfactory manner. He seemed fairly cheerful while his wife was onithad been given the defense.Brother is Faithful.And during this trial the brother of “Kid” Noble, who lives In Kansas City.I and it is said runs a gambling house' at that point, has been a close observer the various scenes of the trial andiIhelped “Kid” to bear up. He has indeed been a true brother and every morning and afternoon has found him at his sido. He has also acted as a sustaining influence to Mrs. Noble, who also has sat patiently bv her hus-band, while her own reputation and character has been exposed to the public by the testimony and speeches of the attorneys. Hut she has remained faithful and since Thursday afternoon has been in tears a greater portion ofthe time.His Life in Jail.Sheriff Stuart states that Noble has made a good prisoner. He seemed to get farther down into his chair, the “don't-care” expression that he had assumed was gonlt;\ and developed into one ofintense seriousness, his eyes nearly all the time being riveted on the floor. He had a pencil with which he scratched a piece of paper. During the recess he did not laugh or Joke with hiswife and brother, but they had a quiet and seemingly serious conversation.All realized the fact that a telling blowIevery night sits up and reads until 12 and 1 o’clock. He eats heartily, keeps himself in good shape and appearance and is quite particular regarding hisdress and appearance while In the court room. Friday when he heardthe countv attorney ask the Jury togive him the death penalty, he seemedto be more affected than ever, whilehis brother was intensely nervous, andthe perspiration stood out in great drops on his forhead. The little group at the end of the table has attracted considerable attention during the progress of the trial, and they no doubt as well as others will he glad when itis finished.
