Businessman arrested on drug countsBy The TelegramA Garden City businessman was arrested on drug allegations Wednesday after a traffic stop led to the seizure of more than $200,000 in methampheta-mine, according to Finney County Sheriff Kevin Bascue.A deputy stopped Stacey Becker, 41, owner of Beckers Auto Shop, 2505 W Buffalo Jones Ave., at about 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of East Jones Avenue inHolcomb for an illegal tag.Bascue said Becker, who resides at 1992 Chmelka Road, was arrested on scene and his vehicle was searched. A smallamount of methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle,Tr»/1 aBascue said.Becker was then arrested onadditional allegations of possession of methamphetamine and no drug tax stamp.Bascue said during the investigation, the Garden City/Finney County Drug Task Force obtained a search warrant forBecker’s business and served thewarrant at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday The search resulted in aseizure of 2,121 grams of suspected methamphetamine and $5,000 in cash. Vehicles also were confiscated.A 2003 Jeep Cherokee was one of the two vehicles confiscated at the business after thetask force found drugs inside,Bascue said.A ££AThe other vehicle, a 1996 Lexus, was confiscated as evidence as well as Becker’s 2003Dodge Intrepid. The task force is trying to determine if the vehicles were used as possible transports for drug trafficking, Bascue saidThe street value of the methamphetamine is $212,000, Bascue said.Two other individuals werearrested at the business. Hope Ramirez, 30, 801 Inge Ave., and Juan Pineda-Valdespino, 31, 2601 W Mary St.. were arrested on allegations of possession of methamphetamine and no drug tax stamp.
