ChecksWilliam C. Carter, IS, ahd Ellis Brisher, 22, both of Shafter, were arrested at 4:55 p.m^ Tuesday, July 14 and charged with passing no-account checks.They had attempted to passcheck at Hemingson’s when the cashier became suspicious and called the police at 3:55 p.m. *Checks had been cashed at Country Boy. Tops Market and Toppers’, ranging from $40 to $48. All money was recovered because of the quick action of Mrs. Betty Gloeckler at Hemingsons. j
