The attempt to burn the Methodist church at Chesterton has been cleared by the arrest of George Gullstrom and Charles Carlson, both of -whom have confessed.Gullstrom was arrested Saturday for being drunk. He talked so much about the fire that the officers gave him the third degree with the result that he confessed that he set fire to the church. He said Charles Carlson was with him at the time. Carlson was-then arrested*According to the story of Gullstrom, supported by Carlson, the two men went out for a time Wednesday night. Gullstrom wanted to do something real devilish and so he conceived the idea of burning the Methodist, church. Carlson tried to dissuade him from ■ it, but could not, and so Gullstrom aimade three attempts to set fire to the structure, but none succeeded.Gullstrom has been taken to Valparaiso and is in jail, while Carlson is out on bail.
