Roswell sceneCity man to face trialA Roswell man charged with the rape of a 15-year-old girl has been bound over to District Court after a preliminary hearing before Magistrate Baudelio “Bobby” Ramirez.Edward Webb, 36, of 2101 N. Main St., was arrested Dec. 24 on a charge of criminal sexual penetration, a second-degree felony punishable by 10 to 50 years in prison.The girl was taken to a North Main Street motel, raped and then returned to her grandmother, testimony at the preliminary hearing Friday revealed.Judge Ramirez set bond on Webb at $30,000.A date for trial has not been set.fire departments listed in the Jan. 17 edition of the Daily Record as rabies vaccination centers will not participate in the program.According to the spokesman, the East Grand Plains Fire Department and the Berrendo Fire Department will not take part in the vaccination program because there are not enough personnel to man all the fire stations in the county.However, the Dexter and Hager-man fire departments will participate in the program, the spokesman said, as well as all the other fire departments in the area.The rabies vaccination clinic will be conducted on Jan. 27 from 2-5 p.m.not be registered to vote here still have time to register, according to the Chaves County clerk.The deadline for registering is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Clerk Joyce Walker announced this week.
