JUDGE DECLINES TO ACCEPT EXCUSE“Have you anything to .say before sentence?” Judge John J. Keegan asked the question and Ira Smith of this city was the respondent to whom the inquiry was addressed after he had pleaded guilty to intoxication in municipal court Wednesday morning. He had something to say and this is it.“Well, your honor. I've a bad case cf fallen arches which bother me considerably. I haven’t recovered from a recent operation at a Portland hospital and only the other day I fell from the roof of my house while cleaning oil the snow and landed on my head.”That was ail he had to say.“Sixty days in the House of Correction.” was all the judge had to say.
