BLOWN 1TP BY BLACK HANDSaloon Owned by Man Who Refused to Pay Tribute Wrecked.New York, Feb. 14.—A dynamise explosion, declared to have been the work of the ‘‘Black Hand fraternity, completely wrecked the interior of the saloon.of John^ De L*essk, at Fourth avenue and Twentieth street, Brooklyn, early to-cla.y.The windows of houses adjoining also were broken by the concussion. De Bessie?, who is the owner of eight or nine houses in the neighborhood of his saloon and is reputed to be wealthy, said that | he received a letter, signed “The Black ' 1 Hand/' demanding $2,000 about a yoarr j ago. The letter was turned over to theii police a_nd a trap was laid for the blackmailers, but it failed.Since that time De Bessio said he had received additional letters threatening him with death and the kidnapping of1 one of hjs children. He said to-day that he paid no attention to the we threats, and declared that he would not pay one cent of tribute money.j He offered a reward of ?1,0(X for the ap-1 prehension of the perpetrators of to-day's ! butraife* - ■
