HOBBS MANTommy Earl Barton, 32, and Nelda Jacoby, 23, both of Hobbs,pleaded not guilty at their ar-raignment in District Court this morning to charges of murder in connection with the death of Philip Vener, 72-year-old Hobbs businessman.This is the third charge made in the case. Cecil Ray Rinehart, 37, pleaded guilty in District Court on December 8 and was sentenced by Judge KermitNash to a life sentence in prison.Barton was serving a prison term in Santa Fe for the shooting of Floyd E. Smith, a Hobbs bartender. Barton was returned to Lea County to answer to the murder charge.A preliminary hearing for Barton and Mrs. Jacoby has been set for January 12.Other arraignments heard in District Court this morning includedthe court until he is 21 y old.
