Slale Police Assign Troopers,Open Six INew Outpost StationsMONTPELIER — Major Glenn E. Davis, acting commissioner of public safety, announced today the reassignment of 10 state police officers and the opening of six additional outpost stations to become effective Jan. 5: Trooper Robert S. Crossman from Troop C, Rutland, to Troop K, Morrlsville area outpost.Trooper Robert M. Duhaime from Troop B, Derby, to Troop D, Wilmington area outpost.Trooper Paul G. Gauthier from Troop A, St. Albans, to Troop A, Grand Isle area outpost.Trooper Robert A. Horton from Troop B, St, Johnsbury, to TroopD, Londonderry area outpost.Trooper Edward E. James from Troop D, Wilmington, to Troop A, Mlddlebury subtroop.Trooper Jean G. Lessard from Troop K, Montpelier, to Troop A, Montgomery area outpost.Trooper Lane F. Marshall from Troop B, Derby to Troop B. Gilman-Lunenburg area outpost.Trooper Melvis E. Morris from Troop D, Wilmington, to Troop K, Warren-Waitsfield area outpost.Trooper Robert W. Davis further stated In explanation of the opening of these outposts that this is part of an overall plan of reorganlaa*-tlon to enable the department to more effectively serve the rural, outlying areas of the state.These outposts are supplemental to the present troop and sub-troop stations and will not substantially afreet their operation,he said.
