Teen-ager listed in ‘fair’ condition with stab woundA 17-year-old Cedar Rapids youth Sunday was listed in fair condition at St. Luke’s Hospital, following a stabbing Saturday night on the southwest side.Charles Mathias, 1234 Fourth Ave. SE, Apt. M, told police a man confronted him at 1570 Second Ave. SW about 6:30 p.m. An argument ensued, and the man stabbed Mathias in the thigh and slashed his abdomen, Mathias told police.Mathias, who was entering the building to visit a friend, said he recognized the man from a prior business transaction, but that he did not know the man’s name, according to police reports.
