Escaped Soldier Is Returned To CampPolice announced Wednesday I night that Calvin Lidie, West Fifth street, Frederick, was given into FBI custody by his mother and has been turned over to Army authorities for return to a Texas camp from which he escaped several weeks ago.Lidie was serving a term of five 3'ears at nard labor for conviction of a series of military and civilian misdemeanors, when he escaped from v his guards in Texas, police said.Officers here were notified to be on the lookout for the escaped prisoner. Lieut. Frank Dorsey, in charge of the local search for Li-die, last nigcit said;“We informed the FBI that Lidie was back in Frederick. An agent , who had consulted with Mrs. Lidie several times, went to Ihe house and asked her to advise her son Lo give himself up. Mrs, Lidie responded. ‘He is willing to. Therehe sits.”'Yesterday Lidie was taken to Baltimore by Military Police from that city.
