Through Mr. T. S. Gill the Senior Competition Home Gardens finale was inspected on August 26. Judges traveled by auto to assess trainee plots. Many gardens showed care despite heat and drought, with Orville Thompson Webb and James Kemball praised for neatness and cultivation. Harold Kummer’s flower garden impressed with bloom, while Hector Donaldson faced stony, thirsty soil. Wasa Creates First Agricultural Fair Amid Growth Progress

Wedding Bells Ring In Cranbrook
Miss Eva Georgia Conley wed Robert Coats St Clair of the C P R Forestry Dept in Cranbrook Methodist Church in a choral ceremony. The bride wore blue serge with military braid and a white satin hat. A wedding breakfast followed at the bride’s home before the couple left for San Francisco to attend the fair. Guests showered them with confetti and rice and presented gifts.

Samuel Watson dies from Cranbrook murder injuries
Cranbrook reports a shocking crime on Wednesday afternoon as Samuel G. Watson formerly a CP Rail brakeman and member of the 11th C M Rs Vernon is attacked at Hugh McGill’s home. He dies about 1 o’clock after suffering a fractured skull and hemorrhage. A jury is empanelled to hear evidence with constable Venus and Dr. J H King testifying on wound details and cause of death.

Verdict Links Death to Fall After Verandah Post Blow
Ten minutes after deliberation jurors found Samuel Watson died from a fractured skull caused by a fall against a verandah post during a blow by the accused McGill. Charles LeDuke Committed For Trial In Escape Case
Charles LeDuke, a fugitive from justice who escaped Cranbrook jail by sawing bars, was recaptured after traveling through wooded areas to Moyie and Wattsburg. He appeared before Judge Arnold and is bound for fall assizes. no counsel represented him.
