At the latest monthly meeting the Mayor was authorized to invest 7000 from the sinking fund in Victory War Loan debentures. Debentures up to 30000 were offered at 77 yielding 6 34 percent. Twenty delegates from 11 institutes joined Cranbrook leading the province with 62 institutes and 13 members on its roll. Key lectures covered Hood Conservation, community power through the Institute, public health duties, laws affecting women, and the call to national service. Delegates enjoyed hospitality, with dinners at the King George Hotel hosted by the Kaslo Institute and city council.
