Evangelism Campaign to Span East and West Kootenay

A major evangelical drive begins Sunday October 1 in East Kootenay, spreading to West Kootenay. Rev. William Patterson and Mr. Weaver lead the effort with Knox church as the base, featuring Rev Robert Knowles and Rev Percy Thornton in Cranbrook and a large joint choir formation.

Appeal Allowed in Ogle vs Ryan Decision

Judge Wilson granted appeal in the case Ogle versus Ryan. Conviction for soliciting or taking orders for a newspaper sale outside Crantrook was overturned due to lack of proof that goods would be supplied by outside firms. ruling cites Smith v Anderson and Palmer v Wallett and notes the bylaw reads “or takes orders.” The appeal is allowed.
